The intake in the Leirelva river is a typical gravity dam, with ductile iron pipes buried along its entire length of approx. 2,150 m. Of this, 1,000 m is a shared trench with Tverråga. The pipeline runs in a side-sloped and landslide-prone area, which meant that special considerations had to be taken during the construction process, both in terms of the extent of the intervention and weather conditions.
